2005, March – Winner – KUWAIT INTERNATIONAL OPEN.
Although I’m not to sure of the spelling, these 3 words are something you hear quite often in Kuwait.
Kuwait government is extremely rich; thanks to that wonderful black stuff they find in the ground that everyone around the worlds wants.
The Kuwait government is extremely helpful to the Kuwaitis. They offer locals an interest free loan worth over $250,000 AUS to help them build a house for their family. The government has been known to present Kuwaiti born people money for no reason other than that oil prices have risen.
An extremely generous government in terms of helping the people financially, but perhaps that money should be spent on the road system or construction of buildings.
It’s not uncommon to find roads half finished, buildings barely started and debris all over the place.
Looking away from all that, Kuwait is also quite pretty. Having dinner at the Hard Rock Café right on the Persian Gulf while the sun is setting is truly beautiful, a cool breeze off the water makes the hot weather all but forgotten.
