To paraphrase someone who quoted someone else, Practise makes permanent; perfect practise makes perfect. So have "quality" practise time. Otherwise you might ingrain the wrong movements. What would happen if you played Wii bowling all week, then played a real game? (Oh, you'd bowl like me! heh)

Ive found that practice how you play is very true. When I practice i dont throw ball after ball. I throw a ball every 3 or 4 minuits. If you stand up there and keep throwing your arm will tire and you begin to throw slower and slower. That is not good practice.

just like the old saying-practice makes perfect, is totally true because like belmo was saying he didn't bowl for like 6 weeks and I didn't bowl for about 4 and he is totally right in my opion. I went and bowled about 14 games in a day and then the next day at 8:00am I went and bowled with my coach. I was beat(tired...lol) but you know what I was getting in better shape already. So overall lets just keep the old saying-practice makes perfect(well.... you'll never be perfect but you can get as close as possible.)Good luck to all!

regular practice is a must.
Recently i have been bowling less as my leagues have been finishing up so when I bowled last sunday and came dead last. I realalised i needed more practice.
Since then i have bowled every day adding an extra game each day and now i'm hittin harder and scoring higher . From just scraping a single 200 on sunday to a 230 ave yesterday.
Bring on the youth cup tomorrow.

Recently, I have realized that I was not practicing correctly. I would take my video recorder and criticize myself the entire session. My scores were suffering and I had to find a way to fix the reoccurring problem. Now, I try to "lock in" and find a way to strike every shot. This seems like common sense, but I was lowering my self-confidence with my previous practice sessions. The old axiom is true: you practice how you play.

When I'm out of form, I always record myself on video. This helps me see where I need to improve, and how my game has changed. As I alluded to earlier, an over justification of criticism tends to alter the mental aspect of bowling. I now record myself enough where I can make the changes without beating myself up to get back in form.
